Sepanjang 2024\u20132025, tercatat 602 peristiwa kekerasan yang melibatkan institusi kepolisian di Indonesia. Angka tersebut menjadi latar refleksi dalam karya ini.<\/p>\n
Foto ini berasal dari arsip pribadi yang diambil pada 2017, saat pertama kali saya merantau ke Jakarta dan memotret demonstrasi di depan Istana Negara.<\/p>\n
Pada 2025, saya kembali pada foto ini dan memanfaatkannya sebagai ruang intervensi\u2014menggeser representasi institusi keamanan yang kerap diasosiasikan dengan maskulinitas, kekerasan, dan kekuasaan. Melalui pendekatan visual ini, saya membayangkan kemungkinan lain: bagaimana jika citra tersebut tidak hanya didominasi oleh warna coklat, hitam, dan jejak kekerasan, tetapi juga membuka spektrum warna yang lebih luas, sebagai simbol harapan, empati, dan kemanusiaan.<\/p>\n
Between 2024 and 2025, 602 incidents of violence involving law enforcement institutions in Indonesia were recorded. That figure forms the background for this work.<\/p>\n
This photograph comes from my personal archive and was taken in 2017, when I first moved to Jakarta and photographed a demonstration in front of the State Palace.<\/p>\n
In 2025 I returned to this image and used it as a site of intervention \u2014 shifting the representation of security institutions that are often associated with masculinity, violence, and power. Through this visual approach I imagine another possibility: what if the image were not dominated by browns, blacks, and traces of violence, but instead opened onto a wider spectrum of color as a symbol of hope, empathy, and humanity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
